Roadchef, one of the country’s leading Motorway Service Area (MSA) operators, has announced it will be launching the UK’s first ‘Sail Thru’ on water at Roadchef Killington Lake services.

From kayaks and canoes to sailboats - Killington Lake's ‘Sail Thru’ will be a place for captains to rest, refuel and recharge. The branded jetty mirrors other iconic Roadchef locations and will welcome boats to moor while ordering meals via an intercom-equipped kiosk.

Located at one of the most attractive service stations in the UK, according to Which?, on the M6 Southbound between Junctions 37 and 36, Roadchef’s latest offering means passengers can also enjoy refreshments whilst on the water.

Commenting on the launch, Howard Lockwood, Catering & Brand Development Director at Roadchef, said: “It brings us immense pride that we’re the first to launch a ‘Sail Thru’ here in the UK. The launch demonstrates our commitment to helping Britain rest, refuel and recharge, no matter the vehicle they are driving, and we look forward to welcoming the first sail-thru customers soon.”

Around 690,000 households in the UK own a boat, of which roughly half are either a canoe or a kayak. The latest innovation will see Roadchef provide a best-in-class customer experience for all guests and audiences.
