The Transport Focus Results Are In…

The 2023 Transport Focus Motorway Services User Survey results are in, and Roadchef is proud to announce its results; with one site voted the most recommended in the United Kingdom.

Each year Transport Focus, the independent watchdog for transport users, surveys all of the United Kingdom’s motorway services; this year over 30,000 individuals were questioned across 120 sites.

This year, Roadchef boasted three of its sites in the top five most popular sites - Annandale Water (2nd), Killington Lake (3rd) and Stafford Southbound (5th) - with Chester (7th) ensuring that four sites were placed within the top ten.

Annandale Water was voted the most recommended site with a score of 88% (rising from 74% the previous year), with Killington Lake and Stafford Southbound again making up the top five and seeing marked improvements from 2022’s results.

For those looking to answer the call of nature during their journey, Killington Lake was voted the most satisfying toilet experience, with a 2% and 5 place improvement on last year’s results.

There was praise for Roadchef sites from disabled visitors; voted the highest rated of the major providers for meeting the needs of visitors with impairments.

Visits to Roadchef sites left a lasting impression, delivering the most EPIC experiences compared to others in the newly-created category. Transport Focus defines the EPIC experience as a time when individuals feel their visit went above and beyond - creating a sense of emotional elevation or connection, a sense of pride, or an insightful experience that took place.
