Sustainability
Building
At Roadchef, building sustainability is a cornerstone of our environmental commitment. We understand that the construction and operation of our facilities have a significant impact on the environment, which is why we prioritise sustainable building practices. This includes using energy-efficient materials, incorporating renewable energy sources, and designing structures that minimise waste and maximise resource efficiency.
Our buildings are constructed with a focus on reducing carbon footprints, improving energy performance, and enhancing the comfort and well-being of our visitors. By integrating green building standards and technologies, we aim to create environmentally responsible and resource-efficient spaces that align with our commitment to sustainability.
This approach not only supports our environmental goals but also provides a positive impact on the communities we serve and future-proof our operations for years to come.
Our Super 8 by Wyndham hotels
Both of our Super 8 by Wyndham hotels have been renovated with green principles at their core, achieving Wyndham's certification - Wyndham Green Level 5 - for our focus on green processes, practices and installations. Wyndham’s Green Certification programme aims to promote sustainable practices at its 9,000-plus hotels around-the-world. Both of our Super 8 by Wyndham hotels - Chester East and Durham - have received Level 5 Expert status – making it one of the most sustainable in Wyndham’s portfolio. Through its Green Certification programme, Wyndham has rewarded Roadchef's effort to reduce the environmental footprint of the Super 8 by Wyndham Chester East hotel, through energy and water conservation, waste diversion and operational efficiency, as well as guest and employee education and engagement.
