What are the shift patterns?

We have various shift patterns available and require employees to do a variety of shifts to fit inline with the needs of the business. A small amount of fixed shifts may be available in specific circumstances. Shift pattern examples include: 5am-1pm, 7am-3pm, 10am-7pm, 3pm-11pm, 11pm-7am

Will I have to work weekends and bank holidays?

Weekends and bank holidays are some of the busiest times for us so we do expect our teams to be able to work during these times. We all value family time so we have rotas to make sure everyone has a good work life balance.

This is my first job, do you provide training?

Yes, we provide full training for all roles. We also offer a number of Apprenticeship programmes for those wishing to develop their skills further.

Is there an opportunity for me to progress?

We like nothing more than seeing people progress and have many opportunities for people to move between brands and departments and within each brand too.

After the telephone interview what is the next stage?

If successful after the telephone interview you will be invited to visit the Motorway Service Area to meet with the Hiring / Unit Manager. This is a great opportunity for you to have a look at the environment you may be working in and a chance for us to ask you some further questions to understand what you are looking for and how you may fit into the Roadchef team. You will also have the opportunity to ask the Manager questions.

When are you looking for people to start?

If successful after meeting the Hiring/Unit Manager a start date will be agreed, usually this will be within a week of the interview to get people started as quickly as possible. If you have notice requirements in another role we will work with you to agree a suitable start date that fits with this.

Will I have to wear a uniform?

Yes for the majority of roles our team wears a uniform. Many uniform items will be provided for you and these will be explained as applicable to the role you are applying for.

What is the probation period?

All of our roles have a 12 week probation period during which time your Manager will check in with you to ensure you have everything you need and see how you are getting on within the role.
