History & trivia of Annandale Water
Originally opened in 1995 the Annandale services site looked nothing like it does today, with the man-made lake being developed by the Glasgow University Archaeological Research Division, a task that was sponsored by both Blue Boar and Texaco, the owners of Annandale Water at the time. We took ownership of the service station in 1995 and began performing major renovations from 2014. This included the initial development of a McDonalds within the catering area, replacing what was previously an in-house restaurant. This also included the viewing platforms, inside seating area and most notably the large glass walls that can be found within the Costa Coffee area.
