History & trivia of Hamilton Services

First opened in 1975 Hamilton services were originally intended to be run and operated by Blue Star and Trust Houses, however due to financial constraints and difficulties the partnership never happened. Roadchef were then invited to design and operate. Initial development consisted of large glass panelling with a self service restaurant that could seat up to 120 travellers, usually made up of long-distance traffic. After the initial opening years we renovated and refurbished the site, installing a new building in 1978 to give the site and station a new presence and a better experience for our customers. Interestingly both Bothwell and Hamilton service station are administratively treated as the same service station due to their close proximity, however because they by name are two different sites we chose to individually name them.
