Keep On Truckin’ - Significant Improvements Made To Roadchef Annandale Water HGV Facilities

Following consultation with HGV drivers and significant investment since the start of 2024, the team at Roadchef Annandale Water are proud to announce the completion of stage one works to improve the experience of HGV drivers.

The seven-figure investment sees substantial improvements that will benefit hauliers now and future-proof the A74 site.

Capacity has been increased with an additional 51 parking bays whilst improved lighting ensures safer walking routes from cab to the comfort of Annandale Water services.

Whilst in the services, improvements have been made to the showers. New bays, adorned in Roadchef red, have been finished with moisture-resistant tiling and contactless showers - for an experience that is both consistently clean and simple to operate.

Back in the great outdoors, driver peace of mind is the priority. The latest safety-focused technology has been fitted to ensure, those who decide to stay overnight with us, can get ‘forty winks’ with ease.

Thermal CCTV, controlled and monitored centrally, guarantees that any issues can be clearly seen and dealt with - even in the dead of night.

The next stage over the coming weeks is alarmed fencing, limiting the opportunities for thieves to gain entry into the car park without ramifications.

The improvements made to Annandale Water are just the start of Roadchef’s planned works set to take place over the next 18 months to HGV parks and facilities for lorry drivers - with the number of showers at Watford Gap South and Durham increasing, showers both sides of Tibshelf already increased, with the Northbound side HGV Park due for extension.
