In 2020 LEON decided to measure the carbon footprint of its fast food heroes, our Better Burgers and Waffle Fries. LEON spend nearly 75% of our purchasing budget in the UK, resulting a majority of their burger ingredients being sourced here whilst their iconic waffle fries arrive by boat from the Netherlands. These sourcing methods mean LEON have avoided transport-related carbon emissions where possible and none of our burgers are made with higher carbon meats such as beef. LEON work with ClimatePartner to do the measurement work, a solution provider for climate action that combines tailored consulting services with a software-as-a-service (SaaS) platform for company and product carbon footprints. ClimatePartner has also helped us select projects to offset with, which are aligned with our values and long-term commitments.
